SpeedREG: Downloading & Installing the Software

The SpeedREG software is now available. SpeedREG was written by Peter Cox

To Download SpeedREG

Just click on the download option below. This will prompt for a directory on your hard disk to save the file to. (I usually use c:\temp or c:\instfiles to save downloaded files into). The file downloaded will have a name like reg10110.exe (depending on the version of the software).

reg10110.exe is version 1.01.10

Download SpeedREG version 1.01.11 by clicking on its filename here: reg10111.exe (127Kb) released 20 March 2000
This is a self-extracting zip file.

To Install SpeedREG

The easiest way is to use Windows Explorer to go to the directory (folder) where you saved the install file regxxxxxx.exe.

Double click on the file name and that will start the install program and unpack the files for you. It is very fast!

The default directory to install the program is c:\speedreg, (and this is offered to you). Just tap the Enter key; but you can define any directory on any drive that is accessible to your computer.

To Run Speedreg

All you need to do then is use Windows Explorer to run the file REG.EXE from the c:\speedreg directory.
But see below for an easier way.

Creating a Shortcut to SpeedREG

It is common practise in a Windows environment to have desktop shortcuts to your applications. To create such a shortcut for SpeedREG:

Your desktop will now contain an MSDOS icon titled REG, click on this any time you want to start SpeedREG.
